Re: Cannot do anything after previewing an image

Also it's helpful to note that it happens for any file in any group. The mere act of previewing an image makes NL go bonkers for 10 seconds. And why 10 seconds? That too, I would like to know.

An a Windows update and a reboot later, this is still happening.

Re: Cannot do anything after previewing an image

I'm also getting a lot of "Paused temporarily" because apparently my 1GB/s SSD is not enough? Why am I getting those now and not before? The SSD itself is working fine outside of NL. I'm also getting "Finishing saving articles to disk (1)" when closing NL (what's the 1 mean anyway?), but it's not sa...

Cannot do anything after previewing an image

This suddenly started happening. I didn't update anything, I didn't change any settings. I'm on NL 7.0 beta 10. Yes, that's an old version, but I'm using it because it's the last version that actually works the way I need it to. Later versions are, shall we say "not exactly agreeing with me". Anyway...

Re: NL7B10 Out of memory

Another few months later - what's the status on NL's stability?
It seems every new version, beta or otherwise, introduces all sorts of crap for us to deal with, so "try this and this version" isn't really going to work either.

Re: ALL zero-block par2 files downloaded right away

That disables RnE queue handling completely. It doesn't just only download files in the order that I put them in. Look, a queue is a queue because it has a specific order. That's why we call it a queue. IRL, people get angry when you jump a queue, because a queue is made to follow an order. Just say...

I guess not then. That's a valid answer, too.

"hide this bar" doesn't work

So 7.0 final introduces a friendly blue advertisement at the top (to put it extremely mildly). So I immediate click "hide this bar". It says I need to register. So I do. And now the bar is still there. It won't go away. Every time I click "hide this bar" it's begging me to use th Register button, wh...

Re: NL7B10 Out of memory

A few months later, and I haven't re-encountered this issue. But, it's also not fixed. Nothing about it in the changelogs. 14 beta's. Wow.

Any updates on why this is happening? Because it still is... The problem didn't magically go away.

Feature request: connections in two columns

We have large monitors these days. 1440p is becoming mainstream for powerusers. Newsleecher doesn't use very much screen real estate, which is fine. But as a result, I noticed how much negative space the connections pane has. I'm sure that even on my mere WUXGA monitor it can display connections in ...

Cannot select a filter by keyboard properly

In the group browser, try selecting a filter by hitting Tab (to go the the filter dropdown) and then Alt+Down to pop up the list of previously used filters. Now use the arrow keys to select one. So far so good. Now try to press Enter or Esc or Tab to back out. Enter should actually select a filter (...

ALL zero-block par2 files downloaded right away

When R&E is enabled, there's no choice but to have NL download all zero-block par2 files right away, as soon as they appear in the queue, whether on top or at the end. This is highly undesireable, because it makes R&E extremely slow once a certain large number of parsets have been added. It should j...

NL7B10 PAR2 files are moved to the top

PAR2 files are being moved to the top so they get added to R&E immediately. What's the deal with this? Why is this shitty option enabled by default? It makes downloading multiple parsets extremely slow! My recently-bought Skylake-based pc is brought to its knees just by downloading a couple of parse...
