Topic: # of Blocks Needed, NewsLeecher ignores PAR2 files

What version are you using? With the latest release, there is a bug fixed where RnE would sometimes not resume a par2 file if there are other par2 files in the queue with almost the same subject line. Also, what happens if you manually resume the correct amount of repair files?

Weird. I know it was asked before here on the forums, but it should have been fixed a few releases back. You could try to clear all your settings and see how that goes.

Have you also ticked the 'Old' checkbox? Maybe you got a filter set?

You got the %appdata% folder, in there there is the /data folder, and /temp in it. Move only those files/folders. If you want to specify the full storage folder, you have to create a file in the NL install folder called newsleecher.ini and put in the following: settingsFile=D:\Installed Programs\New...

The error you get is something that isn't the fault of NewsLeecher. It means that you reached the maximum concurrent connections. Unless you share your account with someone, you should not get this. However, if you set the max connections too high, it will give this error. E.g. you limit is 5 connec...

Sorry for the sig, I fixed it. I'm using internet of a Dutch company called UPC. I never had problems with it. I have 8 connections, that is the amount Eweka supports. I am using Vista Ultimate 64bit but i'm using NewsLeecher for a weeks now without any problems. This is pretty weird cause I didn't...

Sorry everyone. I just re-read the release notes for 3.95 Beta 1 and realized there was an improvement in cpu usage only when updating groups so I guess the 97% usage during downloads is what it is... :? Keep in mind that NewsLeecher decodes the articles when it finishes a part, and if you download...

Did you actually see a progress of the download at the bottom part of the screen? You have to make sure that you entered the information for Giganews correctly in the server settings and hit "Connect" before you can download anything.

Please see the How-To's and FAQ's Section for more information.

It's not a virus, it's a false positive, confirmed by McAfee. There should be an updated DAT file that fixes it. It was fixed in a previous released DAT file, but it seemed that it got broken again in the following update. Please search the forums and you will see that you are not the only one.

a couple of years away by which time the program would have developed more (you would assume) And what if there are more issues than you think when implementing IPv6 in your program? And resolving all those issues takes longer than you think and the end of IPv4 is closing up. Would you still be so ...

why? Oh, you want to be the only one that will not be able to access the internet in a few years? The IPv4 addresses are assigned by then and the whole world will have switched to IPv6. It's best to have the programs that use any form of network connectivity be ready to support IPv6 or it will neve...

Yes, you have to remove the setup.dat file. This will clear all settings you made in NL. You can find this file in your user profile\application data (%appdata%\newsleecher).

It's still a good idea to report this to McAfee, as it's another one of those false positives they keep getting. I've seen countless false positives about McAfee, even one where it would detect all MS Excel sheets as a virus and removed them. Lots of companies had problems with that. Though it didn'...

Go to the Explorer tab and drop the par2 file to the bar at the bottom of the file part. It's stated on it clearly to drop them there to add it to RnE.

Well, I have seen your problem on my system too once, or twice. But after I cleared my drive, it was enough. Do you download to more than one hard drive? If so, perhaps the other drive doesn't have enough space. As I'm an Alpha Tester, I no longer see this issue. It's likely that it is fixed in the ...
