If you downloaded the latest final version, please use the beta instead. There was a small bug in the final that didn't set the evaluation timer to 0, causing strange behaviour. This is fixed in the beta. Usually, beta versions aren't open for public use, but since this bug was introduced in the fin...

If you have the SuperSearch package, you can enter the groupname and hit search, so you can browse all the binaries in that group to up to 200 days. Of course, the group you're searching for must be indexed by SS. You can check that by reading http://www.newsleecher.com/ss.php

Please see viewtopic.php?t=13822 for more info about Linux, Wine and NewsLeecher.
See viewtopic.php?t=6766 for where NL stores its config. For Wine, it's not in Documents and Settings, but in the Windows\profile folder.

If you purge the group, then unsubscribe and restart NL (just to be safe), you should get all the available headers. It might be wise to check the groups folder if the cache is actually removed properly. Go to %appdata%\NewsLeecher\Data\CacheV3\Groups and remove the two files corresponding to the gr...

Well, I don't really use Linux but if you programmed with Delphi, could it not be possible to adapt it to Kylix (Delphi Linux Platform)? Isn't Kylix just the developing enviroment and not the actual compiler for Linux programs? Besides, as I stated before, there are too many Windows APIs used to re...

Please send a message to Smudge with the proper information. That is email address used for the Members area and the new email address if needed for spam. Of course you need the proper description for the problem ;).

NL will do a full update on newly subscribed groups, after that, it will do incremental updates. If your Usenet Provider has a retention of 100 days and keeps the headers for that long, the first update will download those 100 days of headers, and if you update the next day, you will get the new hea...

Did you actually give the command to update headers? The message "Offline (connect on demand)" means that until you download something, the connection will not be established completely. If you have the SuperSeacher package, try downloading something from SS directly, or an old article. There really...

Ok, there was a bug in some version (don't know if it was beta or alpha) where after a header update NL would not open the group. Restarting NL got that problem fixed, but only until you update headers again.

There are some Linux/Unix readers available. As for the part where you want NL in Linux/Unix, that is not possbile. First because it's written in Delphi, and it's Windows platform only. Second because there are so many API's used from Windows that it's very hard to reprogram them for another OS.

AFAIK, the priority is used when there are no articles found. With connection problems there is no actual download in progress and therefore is not possible to switch to look for articles on the other servers. I believe that this should indeed be changed to connection problems too.

Do you actually update headers? Is a filter set? Do you show old articles too or only new?

Perhaps not. The Admin you're referring to is Smudge. He handles most of this stuff. Have you also checked your spam folder (maybe accessible from webmail)? There is a topic somewhere that lists what provider blocks NL mail.

Remove your mail here because of spammers. Best to send a mail to support @ newsleecher . com and explain what needs to be done. Mention your old email address and your new one.

What version did you install? There is a small bug with the current beta (3.9 beta 15) where the disk space isn't working properly. But it is on the point that it allows downloading when the space is below the setting.
