I pay for this service. I expect something better then Binsearch. Personally I think the convenience of an integrated search alone is worth the minimal fee. I rarely encounter this problem myself and if/when I do it's never a game-killer. Of the samples you listed, half were in boneless or nl. Thes...

Then he would still have to delete everything manually after extracting, eliminating half the benefit of RnE.

So if you read any of those (ctrl-R), when you try to read another one, NL tries to create a txt file with another one already present in its tmp dir, which obviously fails. Do you have "Download Skip Existing Files" set to True? All this with nerdy tweaks "Download keep read articles" = false, of ...

A couple observations: Fetching "turbo-headers" is very inconsistent. Inconsistent enough that I'm never sure if my subscribed groups have a full set of up-to-date headers. Occasionally when updating, one update thread will freeze on header #2, according to the Description column on the connections ...

I checked "Cafe R&B - Black & White" in a.b.s.lossless on Giganews and it was complete, but incomplete on Supersearch. I'm getting headers for boneless and nl to check those (not normally subscribed). EDIT: Checked the posts on nl and boneless. "De Apres Skihut 1-25" IS incomplete on Giganews, but m...

Click "Find Handle or DLL" on the Find menu. Search for the filename, and look for it in the right column of the search results. The left column shows the processes that are using the file.

I read this complaint alot, but haven't seen it myself. Why don't you guys post sample searches that you think are supposed to be complete? I do see incomplete files in supersearch, but I've rarely (maybe never) seen one that isn't also incomplete on my server (which means it's likely to be incomple...

Simple little bug on the group manager tab: When the "New (S)" column is showing and "Extended Group Info" is disabled, clicking the "Article Count" button still shows the count after the group name in parenthesis. Sometimes to hide it you have to enable and disable "Extended Group Info" once or twi...

Is no solution because now nothing happens anymore when i doubleclick on a file
There should be an event that connects doubleclicking a file to leeching a file.
Strange... I assumed that was a toggle between Leech/Open.

It's been said multiple times that higher retention for supersearch will require a software update that isn't available yet. If I remember correctly, we only got 370 days temporarily as a fluke, a side effect of an unrelated server update.

A lot of features and options were disabled because the 4.0 betas have a lot of improvements and the old features need to be re-written or tested extensively before being operational alongside the new improvements. It is still a beta, it's entirely possible that all of these things will be re-enable...

Thanks for replying, i just tried what you said. With ctrl-d it works. But i always dload by doubleclicking on the files in the article browser for 5 years now. Would like to keep it that way. Seems that this function is not or wrong implemented in NL40. Could it be a bug or is it a new way o...

Definitely sounds like a firewall issue. After you stopped/closed your firewall, you will have to wait for a few minutes for the Giganews servers to timeout the connections that you are not using anymore. When a firewall forefully closes a connection, the server doesn't always know you're disconnect...
