Re: Headers

Headers typically do not count towards your totals when using block or limited accounts. So you can buy a cheap low-limit account and use it forever for headers, only paying once.

I don't see the point in that though...

Re: Everytime I shut down NewsLeecher and restart it, my Sup

SuperSearch bookmarks and history are only saved on proper/successful/intentional exits. If NL is crashing or Windows freezes, the power goes out, etc, then on the next start they will be reverted to the state they were in on the last successful close.

Re: Maximize header download speeds

Filters do not affect the speed of downloading headers, they are applied only when viewing already-downloaded headers. The only way to improve the download speed of headers is by using a Usenet server that supports header compression. This doesn't technically increase the download *speed*, but it do...

Re: unable to download 502 error

Double check your password. Use it to log in to the members area of the Newsleecher website and make sure your subscription is still active.

Re: WHEN Final?

6.5b3 has been quite stable. There are newer 6.5 betas also but I have not tried them. There's no reason not to try out 6.5 betas, even for those who think "Final" means something and only download those...

Re: Move data directory to new computer

For simplicity, create a newsleecher.ini file in the same folder as the EXE. Put in the lines: dataFolder=C:\Path\To\NewsLeecher\data tempFolder=C:\Path\To\NewsLeecher\data\temp And move all of those files under the data folder pointed to above. Alternatively you could use the default data and temp ...

Re: I have google fiber and keep getting this error download

It means exactly as it sounds... The hard drive is not able to write the articles as fast as they are downloading. It has been discussed many times in lots of different threads here, search around for them if you want to read more about it. Google Fiber is ridiculously fast, it's no surprise you're ...

Re: Newsleecher(any version) wont repair/extract

When downgrading any piece of software you should *always* uninstall the newer version, delete the programs files and settings, and do a fresh install. The new beta version likely changes some configuration files that can not be reverted back to their old versions. If you didn't make a backup of you...

Re: Buggy v6.5 Beta 6

The current method of each server simultaneously grabbing the first available article is probably vastly preferred by users over what you're asking for. For me, it's an absolutely essential feature and here's why... I have four servers, one I pay for a monthly subscription, the next two are free, an...

Your SuperLeech is working as designed. Adding to the top of the queue from SL is not (currently?) an available function.

Re: Doesn't seem to DL?!

Switch to the News & Log tab. Look for errors. I suspect the item you are trying to download has been taken down by a DMCA request.
