Since I installed 2.1 beta 2 the CPU usage is down to about 30% while downloading.. Whatever it was it was Newsleecher since I didn't change anything else. BTW, disabling firewall and virus scan had no effect.

Sorry, but that sounds more like a lazy programmer. Claiming that the 'code was too far along' to change is just an excuse. Every other newsreader out there can handle multiple file posts as well as base 64 decoding. There's no reason Newsleecher should not have these basic abilities. Every time I n...

Glad in a way to see that the CPU usage problem isn't unique to my system. Sad to see that it's still not fixed in v2.00 beta 11. As a matter of fact none of the bugs I've reported in these forums have ever been fixed.

Naturally I have a virus scanner and firewall. But the CPU usage problem seems to be with Newsleecher, since it wasn't so bad with the previous build.
Hopefully the next update will be better.

Excessive CPU use in RC3

Is it just my imagination or is RC3 a bigger CPU hog than ever. The damn porgram often uses 60 to 70% of my CPU while downloading. This is just a newsreader, not some high-end graphics processing app.

No. The missing picture files are truncated. If you try to view them outside Newsleecher they are still bad. That bug goes all the way back to the very first beta that was released.

Well, pictures count as binaries too. So base64 ought to be there. It can't be that hard. Other programs like Newsbin can do it. BTW, I noticed there haven't been any new betas lately.. It's been at 2.0 b9 for a while now. Newsleecher ought to be able to handle all decoding formats other newsreaders...

It seems to me that it ought to have a higher priority since most other newsreaders can handle such encoding. I would think it's a pretty basic function which should have been there a long time ago.

Files that won't decode

There are some files in the picture groups that don't decode..An example is as in the following nzb file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <!-- Generator: NewsLeecher v2.0 RC2 (http://www.newsleecher.com/) --> <!DOCTYPE nzb PUBLIC "-//newzBin//DTD NZB 1.0//EN" "http://www.newzbin.com/DTD/nzb/n...

Multiple pictures in a post

I finally found one of them here: Cut and paste to nzb file... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <!-- Generator: NewsLeecher v2.0 RC1 (http://www.newsleecher.com/) --> <!DOCTYPE nzb PUBLIC "-//newzBin//DTD NZB 1.0//EN" "http://www.newzbin.com/DTD/nzb/nzb-1.0.dtd"> <nzb xmlns="http://www.newzbin...

Multiple pictures in a post

It's definitely possible. I used to run into them all the time when I was using Agent. Lately I've not seen any.

I'm still looking for one to use as an example, but I don't see them that often.

Multiple pictures in a post

I don't know if this counts as a bug or something for the wishlist: When a post has more than one picture in it Newsleecher only gets the first one. Other newsreaders seem to be able to handle those..and it would be really nice if Newsleecher did. I've been hoping with each beta that it would be in ...
