17774 17773 [snip] Perhaps something to do with the subject length ? or the [ ] brackets in the subject ? , just a guess. Super Search did at one time limit the subject length to 200 characters. It looks like this limit was increased. I’m not sure of the exact current length limit. I checked out so...

Re: Speed

I have Cable @ 8 Mbps dl /768K up. I have a preminum account here my best speed is 1023K..... When I first log on I get like 2999K than it drops off. Are the units of measurement kBytes or kbits per second? If you are getting 1,023 kBytes/s, then this makes sense for your 8 Mb/s connection. However...

Re: It's been on the Todo

As far as creating an NZB in Xnews and then using NL to download it. If i've got the messages up in Xnews, why not just download it with that fine program? Seems like doing twice the work just to be able to use NL. Kind of like drawing a line in MS Paint and then importing it into Photoshop just fo...

Requesting a new key again should alleviate the problem.

This is likely caused by a corrupt config file.
Go to NewsLeecher\data and move the file lvg_2.dat out of the directory. That should take care of the problem, but if it doesn’t, move setup.dat out of the directory.

Sorry, I have no idea when it will be added. I don't see this feature on the Road Map. Hopefully it will be added NL.

Re: Specifying # of headers or date. Has this been done yet?

I've been quite happy with the Supersearch feature of NL and the rest of the application but what I truly need is the ability to subscribe to a group and get either a certain number of messages or (even better) to go back a certain number of days. This should be considered a core feature as I often...

Sure, it seems like a valid request to me. An option to *not* reload the previous SSearch results upon startup would be handy.

Re: max Server retention doesn't seem to work

I have newshosting and giganews - I set newshosting to a max server retention of 21 days. Newsleecher still tries to download binaries 45 days old from newshosting. NL connects to the server, in this case NH, but does not request the article from this server. NL does not request the article from an...

Re: Change Default Port

I Am having Speed a Issue with Newshosting.com, Tech support suggests changing from Port 119 to port 8000 for a test. How is this done in NL? Change the port number in the Server Setup on the Server Details tab (Manager. tab, highlight the server and press “Edit”). Try port 8000 and see if your spe...

Even if SS only indexes one of them, shouldn't it still show up? It is present in both groups when I do a manual header download (in each group). Well, it would be nice if when the first group listed isn’t found in the SuperSearch index (as is the case with your posts in question), the subsequent n...

I can PM you with the specific post (my own post) I am searching for, which is not showing up. SirChristof - The first group in the Newsgroups: header of the articles must be indexed by SuperSearch in order for the articles to be found. In your case, the first group, "alt.binaries.mp3.soundtracks",...
