Deleting cookies

Anytime I delete the cookies in IE7 all my setting from Newsleecher are gone including the license. Is this a bad design idea or it a bug? If its by design, what does the browser have to do with the program settings if these two are independent? If it is not, does a workaround exists?

Known problem and we are discussing the issue with the company that makes the license key system. Hopefully they can make a version that doesn't have this issue soon.
