Sounds very strange. It's working fine so it must be a local issue.
I need more info. Can you please submit a support ticket here:

https://www.newsleecher.com/support/

then i will handle it.
thanks,

actually I didn't read it right...I expect 443 to be ssl but the NL statement below suggests otherwise. Should I still create a ticket or do we assume 443 is non-encrypted?

"If needed, the following ports are also available: 23, 443, 3128, 7000, 8000 and 9000 for non-encrypted connections. Port 80 and 81 for encrypted SSL connections."

Encryption SSL : Port 563. Port 80 and 81 can also be used for SSL connections.

Non-SSL : Port 119 . Other Non SSL ports are 23, 443, 3128, 7000, 8000 and 9000.

yes it unusual for port 443 to be non-ssl. It is specified in well known ports as being for ssl and was used that way since netscape times.

My ISP throttle 563 so 443 is the usenet port of choice. Is there any chance that this standard practice could be offered in the future?

thanks
