same issue - any search over 30 days hangs - on both 7.0 final and 8.0 beta 2 (separate machines)-

Same here. Searches that are very short manual searches seem to work. Some bookmarked searches worked tested with bookmarks that go back 100 days. Now all my bookmarked searches show as faded icons even after restarting the program.

When first trying a new manual search search, it was added to the bottom of the recent searches instead of the top as it was in the past. Trying to search on the bottom one (the most new that I just tried) it instead searched for the previous last on the list. This indicates that the search was not properly added to the recent searches list.

The unpacker tab was changed to have a sweep button that cleans up "finished and missing sets" I prefer the function of the cleanup button of 8.1 where unfinished sets were not removed automatically.

As others are reporting that v7 also has problems I don't want to use that. Besides I'd really miss the deobfuscation in v8 beta 1. Where can I download v8 b1?

On my last post I noted a difference between some search bookmarks set to 100 days succeeding and failing. I now believe the difference between success and failure is the number of results returned. If the bookmark finds enough results to cause the "Max number of search results" dialog box then the search succeeds. If that buffer fails to fill to capacity, then it looks like the search is stuck as described in several of the above posts.

Again, please, let me know how to fall back to v8 b1 or try to clear this up quickly.

The issue has not been solved for me. What if anything did you do? I am using Newsleecher 7.0 Final.

If you're talking about 10/18, the date of your post, SuperSearch was down most if not all of the day. At first the web site was down as well but that was soon fixed. Both are working now (10/19).

I do wish that when there's a significant problem such as an outage, the folks at NL would post about it, preferably with an explanation if they have one. Of course they can only do that if the web site and/or forum are working.

Edit: Sorry, got my dates confused (posted after midnight). SS was down on the 17th, back up on the 18th.

Supersearch is still unreachable for me. Been down between 24hrs and 48hrs as far as I can tell.

EDIT #1: Spoke too soon. Just disabled my PIA VPN and tried again. Now Supersearch works. WTF?!?!?! I reboot my computer twice a day. Always have VPN active, but with the location changed each reboot. Never had a problem with Supersearch and VPN before.

EDIT #2: Just reactivated my VPN and Supersearch is Unreachable again.
