V8b5 UFR 1 Explorer Tab Delete/Trash Icon ► Freeze ► Crash -Update 2

Post by noblemd »

v8b4 Release

When using Explorer Tab to delete leftover download files PRESSING/CLICKING TRASH ICON resulted in NL freezing and then closing (crash).

The confirmation dialog appeared before delete - confirmed (clicked OK) - file/folders deleted then crash occurred and after a short wait NL closed.

Using keyboard delete key DOES NOT result in crash (works normally).

This bug is repeatable.

Strange. Works as expected for me.

Does it happen no matter what drive / folder you try to delete from?

No, tried to delete from C:\_Temp folder and did the same thing when clicking Trash icon. Confirm dialog came up - clicked OK - deletion occurred and crash-close. Normal NL Leech drive is W:\_DL.Temp.

Note: My regular NL download folder is _DL.Temp (underscore DL dot Temp).

When I created a folder named Temp and tried to delete folders using the Icon it worked ok - Apparently, the problem is related to underscore DL dot Temp as the folder name or any folder with an underscore in the name.

Additional issue:

Explorer tab would not permit deletion/rename/move and etc. within NAS folder (\\TM5\T5.Current) - as if did not have permission, but do have full permission in Win 10. NL works fine Leeching/Unpacking to NAS (don't normally Leech to NAS, but checked to see if it would).

I'm going to change my Leech folder to W:\DL.Temp (without underscore) to avoid the issue until fixed.

Ignore this see update below ---> Can confirm able to use Trash icon to delete in folders without underscore in the name.

Even in folders without underscore I am occasionally getting crashes - for instance I got a crash just now when I double clicked to open a folder - NewsLeecher just closed (crashed) and this occurred yesterday during various file operations.

Update - I just tried to delete an empty folder using the Trash icon in W:\DL.Temp and NL crashed.

In W:\_DL.Temp (with the underscore) I just used the Trash icon to delete files and NL DID NOT crash.

So, these crashes have become intermittent.

I've also changed my Leech folder to W:\DLTemp (no dot, no underscore) to see if that makes a difference. Still getting intermittent crashes in that folder also - Using icon - deleted file (no problem) then deleted another file and NL crashed. Restarted NL and deleted 8 files (one at a time) and no problems.

And... Just got another crash double clicking to open W:\DLTemp. Also getting intermittent crashes when double clicking folders in C: drive. Seems to occur every 8-10 double clicks and sometimes sooner.

One other minor visual problem - the Directory drop down list is scrunched together.
