Re: SSL is slower than non-SSL
Looks like it might be months for an answer, looks like I will be taking my money elsewhere, support and software are pathetic!! Regards.
It's sad to say, but I think Newsleecher is just slowly withering away :( I jumped ship ...

Re: Newsleecher V8 Beta Release - Timeline
What does everyone recommend using now instead of Newsleecher since it's dead?
I used Newsleecher for some years but a few months ago moved on. With regards Usenet access, I tried Giganews for a month and then went back to an old fa...

Re: Cancellation confirmation?
Hi, you have to login to members area on newsleecher.com. Here you can check the status of your package. (expiration date etc) members area is also where to cancel the account if you haven't done already.
Hi ... thanks for the reply...

Cancellation confirmation?

I've just cancelled my subs. I didn't get a confirmation (email etc.). How do I confirm that my subscription has been cancelled? My last payment was 27 August 2017 so my subs have a few weeks to run yet but I want to confirm that my subscription has been cancelled and no further payments will be tak...

Re: Newsleecher V8 Beta Release - Timeline

I've been hanging on, for some time now, waiting for a beta release hoping that it would cure the problem of when downloading headers... they just come to a grinding halt and then time out! 4 May 2017 was the last information about future releases and it was indicated then that it would be a few wee...

Re: Lots of errors/bugs - beta 5 :-)
A simple backup would be fine with me, but what happens if or when the database files and indexes get corrupted or partially invalid? That's why I advocate some sort of utility to scan and repair if necessary the selected (or all) databases. If they are corrupted then it doesn't matt...

Re: Lots of errors/bugs - beta 5 :-)
First, I tried the clear the cache option, but errors reoccured. Then I deleted the three files in the newsleecher\data\cachv4\groups folder (the .nlc, nli, nlm files) that apply to the problem newsgroup. Of course then you have to re-download headers again for xx days back, but that...

Re: Lots of errors/bugs - beta 5 :-)

Yes... I also remember seeing the corrupted listing. I did try a few things to get beyond the bug box appearing, but in the end it seemed like a lost cause and I decided the best thing was to go back to beta 4. Beta 4 is pretty solid so I'm going to wait for the next beta release and hopefully the r...

Lots of errors/bugs - beta 5 :-)

Will be installing the previous beta (b4) again as the new beta 5 has lots of errors and bugs that are making it almost impossible to use :-( The main errors/bugs are when selecting to open a group... a bug window keeps appearing and when you close the window, another one appears. Strangely it's not...

Re: Version 7 beta 2 - extract folder problems still

....

Pressing the 'Folders' tab ... this is the second of two folder options and it's this one that I've used the 'Change default folders' button and leave the box empty :)

... Hope that helps :-)

Re: Version 7 beta 2 - extract folder problems still

I *normally* use the Leech Specify way to download to specific folders I use for newsgroups and since making sure that the 'Default "repair and Extract" RAR Extract Destination Folder is left empty, files are now downloaded and extracted to the folder I've specified, as was always the case in previo...
Yay! Special thanks to Sam Leech for explaining the solution so simply.
:) ....
