GREAT job on the performance increase as far as I'm concerned. Fetching articles from supersearch takes 10 times less than b9! And I don't have the CPU hogg when pausing or when NL is idle. Very nice! Another bug, temp-download-files ("!! newsleecher download - do not delete - -????????? !!") are'nt...

Good idea.. although let's face it there are more important developments before w7 commercial launch.

How about "Pause/Unpause" or "Stop" in the jumplist, "Open D/L folder" might be nice too.

Yes that problem also occured to me but it's a different problem. Is your NL unresponsive and its window all white? You have to make sure that Newsleecher is the process that takes 50% CPU; so if it happens again go to the process tab and see what happens. It used to happen to me when I paused NL, s...

err well it looked like that... but it wasn't. I increased swap file size with no better result. Then I loaded filemon and realized that the antivirus software that I had disabled (G-Data) was still working in the background and accessing the HD. I have uninstalled it and since I use Avira it's work...

Choppy mouse cursor

Hey all When I leave my computer running all day, sometimes on and idle, I often get a choppy mouse cursor and keyboard when downloading with NL. Thing is I have tried defraging the memory, closing some programs or background tasks... etc... but the problem still occurs. Note that everything runs fi...

Have you added the newsleecher.exe to the Network Threat Protection exceptions?

Or maybe in "Add a Centralized Exception policy"?

Is it possible to make the RnE functiun skip the extract when the extract folder's path is included in the download folder's path? example: I use CTRL+Y to leech specify an mp3 list. I set up a folder in for instance my C:\downloads\tempMP3\ Now my RnE extract folder is c:\downloads\. At the end of ...

'Open' on a message should ignore the 'do not download when already downloaded' option (or anything downloaded to the TEMP directory anyway). The way it currently works prevents you from reading more then one reply to the same message. NL does try to open a filename with a '1' or '2' appended but i...

great! As for the multiple login thing it can happen if you set your max connections to the exact provider's limit. Recently the tech support from my NGs provider adviced me to take max connections -1 or -2(so let's say 10 max connections in NL settings for 12 max allowed by my provider... I actuall...

For some reason there is a chaotic folder selection occuring in the explorer: When you browse inside a folder's hierarchy and then use the "Go to parent folder" button (on one or several levels successively), you will notice some folders being selected (highlighted in blue) where they were not befor...

It's very easy: create a text file in your NL install folder and rename it to "newsleecher.ini". Then inside this file you add the following: dataFolder=X:\NewsleecherV4\Data\ tempFolder=X:\NewsLeecherV4\Temp\ Obviously you can change the paths to whatever you want... tempfolder is where the parts w...

Just a thought here because I have had a similar issue with my computer: Are you downloading to your Windows disk? because with that many threads and with the speed you are downloading at, plus other access from Vista, then your HD will not be able to follow... I have solved the problem by installin...

Hello ! Great work on b7 :) A quick question regarding the recently implemented feature to skip downloads if file already exists in the download folder: Is it normal that it will download/check/delete? Shouldn't it check/download-or-skip? I mean the feature is nice and definitely keeps the download ...

Moreover to what Smudge has adviced you, you should compare speeds with the age of downloaded articles.
For some reasons I have seen my speed halved when downloading very old archived files with my NG provider.
So if you notice speed changes then it comes from your news provider.
