Spiril is still working on that. It's because of the threaded view that it's not yet working. I'm sure he's doing as much as he can to get it working, but some modules come from third parties so it depends if the new module is done and send to him before beta 4.

In v4, you can't change the fonts. But in v3, you still can. And you even have a reset button. Go to Options > Interface > Fonts and Colors.

Check your connection performance. Get some large file and download it, you might want to download several in a row, so you know how stable it is. If that fluctuates too, then NL is not the problem. If it doesn't, it might be your ISP that is traffic shaping on the port used by usenet. If your USP p...

You have to use a different syntax in the ini for v4. This is how it's now:

Code: Select all

dataFolder=D:\Installed Programs\NewsLeecher v4\data\
tempFolder=D:\Installed Programs\Newsleecher v4\temp\

Are you downloading to that drive? How do you have NL set, because it can pause automatically when you have an x amount of drive space left. Turn that down or off. Perhaps the drive for temp files is full.

Which server are you talking about? SuperSearch, or your usenet provider? If it's the latter, ask them. Check your config. Did you enter the right server to use, the proper port number and username and password?

If you are the only user of NL on those computers, you may use it with one key. AFAIK, it's unlimited on how many computers you install it, as long as you are the only user. Please check the Howto's and FAQ section first though.

Are there any changes you made recently to your system, like installing a new version of your anti-virus or firewall, or install one of them? Please check the Howto's and FAQ section for incompatible or problematic software concering NNTP (usenet) traffic.

It's also possible that your provider is using traffic shaping. If your usenet provider supports SSL, please use that. Don't forget to change the port number too from 119 to 563 or another port available by your provider.

How many connections can you use until you hit your max download speed? If you only need about 5, then stick with that. It frequently happens that using too many connections drops the speed.

Yes, you can upgrade to a new minor version without issues. If you would upgrade to v4, then it's best to do a clean install. You might want to update to 3.95 beta instead, because of the bug fixes it has.

If you connect to the internet using a wireless card, try it with a cable instead. If that stays as it used to, then it's a wireless issue. Sometimes the driver of your system, or the wifi of the router is messed up and can do things like that. To know for sure, send a continuous ping to your router...

The .ini uses a new format. Use it like this:

Code: Select all

dataFolder=D:\Installed Programs\NewsLeecher v4\data\
tempFolder=D:\Installed Programs\Newsleecher v4\temp\

You can also set a crosspost filter, which I have set for 4 groups. You will see the skipped headers in the log tab.

As I said before, extracting the IP won't work, because the actual source IP is gone when it converges to another server.
