Re: NL 7 b12 - Can't register

scuba, you do realize some of us have been here a while... https://web.archive.org/web/20120919194845/https://newsleecher.com/?id=buy (and are/have been still renewing based on these packages - the now killed key/registration method seems to have been active as far back as 2011) After the upgrade pe...

Re: NL 7 b12 - Can't register

Indeed, it strikes me as a little shady that resetting the members area password may well prevent people who were entitled to using prior versions (without a massive unhideable banner) from being able to use those versions. Here's hoping its just an oversight in this 'new back end'... sadly the chan...

Re: NL 7 b12 - Can't register

Interesting, after password reset b12 works, but b11 no longer does (and presumably anything prior).

Re: NL 7 b12 - Can't register

I'm having the same problem as well, it also seems the user/pass that works for b11 and not b12 also affects the 'members area'

Re: Bug when saving articles to an external hdd

I concur with you kublai, just want to provide some reproduceable steps that I've tested to ensure its not my current install of newsleecher or its config files. I tested this just now on a fresh windows xp vm, using a fresh install of newsleecher 7b10: - setup newsleecher - add a server - make sure...

Re: Bug when saving articles to an external hdd

I was able to trigger this bug just now by disabling r&e on v7b10. r&e was entirely empty, I had imported a nzb and manually changed its download folder and started downloading it. Disabling r&e changed the download location I had just set in mid-file to my default location corrupting the currently ...

If I open then close nl 4b23 without doing anything at all, I wind up with Runtime error 216 at 00405a9a after forcing the program to close from an unhandled 0xC0000005 error window. This is new here, can anyone else confirm this issue? When I browse large locally cached groups for update, close the...

It seems to be because the installer is renaming *.tmp files during installation - the actual file they quarantine when copied out of the quarantine and scanned by itself by on-access scanner from the app that quarantined it produces no virus hits. edit:/ nope, my bad. Disabled on access scanning fo...

Thanks Smudge. Wasn't yesterday when I posted (no b6 bugs were listed when I posted). My apologies though, I probably should have added this to the bug thread in the beta release section, didn't realize bugs were being reported there (by it's title I thought it was discussion only). Perhaps a sticky...

Re: Beta or Not

eriji: I definitely agree, an essentially forced change like this is bound to cause more than a few problems. As to your #3, do you also expect to insult other users intelligence if you can't figure something out yourself: Beta or not I don't expect to have my entire group and data folders emptied b...

How much bigger of a warning did you want? Or are you one of those people who knowingly install beta software expecting everything to be so perfect that you don't bother to read the announcement or changelogs before installing it? NewsLeecher v3.8 beta 7 is now available. To provide much better comp...

Spiril: Just in case you are feeling under appreciated; thanks for the constantly evolving app that does so much more today than when I first downloaded it (seemingly ages ago now) thinking it was abandon ware. This quick fix for something you had to do to ensure a "future proof" app that will work ...

just to clarify, a shortcut that says: "c:\program files\newsleecher\newsleecher.exe" /folderSettings="c:\store settings here\" will actually store all the files/folders found in the previous versions' /data folder into: c:\store settings here\NewsLeecher Settings If the folder "NewsLeecher Settings...

I have to concur... I moved newsleecher off my C: drive 2 years ago because the cache dirs were causing overly excessive fragmentation on that drive. I made a separate partition for it so the only thing disc based that it would slow down (daily) is itself... forcing constantly changing sized cache f...
