Re: Still crashing, 7.0 Final

Header retrieval has always been a disaster. I just get the headers in a very few groups and then shut down NL so that I don't lose everything when it crashes.

Re: par2 files not getting special handling in 7.0 final

I've had it with version 7. There are too many bugs and I really hate some of the changes. I'm going back to 6.5 beta from my two month old backup even though it's going to take a lot of time and be a big hassle.

Re: NL 7 Final and Supersearch

Not only that but the number of days keeps defaulting to 1 which I find totally useless.

par2 files not getting special handling in 7.0 final

I just upgraded to 7.0 from the last version of 6 and now par2 files aren't getting special handling even with "Auto PAR2 Queue Handling" checked.

Re: RAR file missing when downloading headers

If the first file is .r01 you probably don't need the .rar file. If the first file is .r00 then you probably do need it.

Re: Features Removed....Why??

I also installed 7 over 6 and there is no way that I am going to lose all of my groups by doing a new install. I've been running NL betas for many years and 7 is the first one that I don't want to use. Actually, it seems more like an alpha than a beta. I think that the NL gods have died.

Re: Features Removed....Why??

I also found your #2 issue extremely annoying. There were so many issues with 7 that I went back to the last 6 beta. I'm wondering why there wasn't a 6 final before 7 beta was issued.

nl70002.ufr5 Download progress not displayed on block

The download progress isn't displayed on the main line of a block. If the block is expanded then the download progress is displayed on every line but the main one. Even when everything is downloaded, the main line still says OK

Re: V7.0 Beta 1 - Downloading all Par2 Files?

I would rather not have Repair and Extract enabled. I want the old behavior where the first .par file was moved to the top of the queue and the rest were paused.

Not using Giganews accelerator didn't make any difference. I tried an XP box and it worked fine. The system with the problem is running Windows 7 Ultimate under VirtualBox under Debian Linux Lenny. It looks like everything is being downloaded correctly but the extraction is breaking for some reason....

All five of the downloaded files are 220KB while the sizes showing in the file list range from 7MB to 40MB. The forum software complained about lines being too long when I tried to add the log file so I put it at http://theunicorn.org/NewsleecherLog.txt The same files downloaded just fine using Agen...

File size of groups of files sometimes way too small when downloaded

Sometimes a group of files will look ok in the file list but when they're downloaded all of the files are the same size and very small (220KB or 330KB). I'm using Giganews and the problem isn't with the server since I just used Agent to download several hundred files that Newsleecher was having trou...

Newsleecher is one of the main reasons that I still run Windows. I'd love to see a Linux version and if it were open source I would certainly put some time into helping to port it.

Linux port

For years I've been saying that when I got a new computer it was going to run Linux. Well, I finally got a new machine and I've put Windows in its proper place which is running in a window in VirtualBox running under Linux. Newleecher is one of the main reasons that I still want to run Windows at al...
