don't want to be rude, but aren't there enough websites (some of them free) that offer this functionality?

Even though newzbin also offers filesearch, SuperSearch seems to be much faster for finding files. I usually use newzbin to browse larger posts, and SS for single files like mp3s/pictures.

Hi

There is already a feature to automatically download "empty" PAR2 files that suffice to check all the files from the set. I would like such a feature anyway, since I'd like to automatically download a few blocks.

Hi okeefo - Such a feature has been requested several times, you'll find a lot of discussions and answers using the search function of this board. - Most FTP deamons can be configured to listen on the ports you mentioned. - Even if you cant get the FTP server running on those ports, there are 3rd pa...

OK, seems like a real problem there :) I'm familiar with the ROUTE command, I actually had a similar installation like yours for some time (but I had two real connections simultaneously). The ROUTE command only allows regular IP routing entries, which don't support SOCKS. I'm out of ideas for other ...

Hi Damn, I thought PortTunnel supports socks! Well you can try to start PortTunnel with SocksCap (http://socks.permeo.com/Download/SocksCapDownload/index.asp), a nice utility that can enable SOCKS support in almost any application. If this doesn't work, you might have to search some kind of port red...

Well one way would be to do the socks connection through a different program, such as PortTunnel: http://www.steelbytes.com/?mid=18 With PortTunnel you can set up a local port on your PC that gets redirected to one of your newsservers, then set up one NL bot to connect to your local host on that spe...

Hi

I'm not sure if this is possible with a socks proxy but you have one major problem anyway: Giganews only allows 1 IP to connect at the same time per account, so you would have to get yourself a second account.

This *might* be caused by the copy protection in newsleecher. Do you get any error messages?

Hi

You probably just used the "Open" function instead of "Leech" on those files. Leech only saves your files to the HD, while the open function executes whatever is assiciated to the file ending in your explorer.

you might also consider dropping all you accounts and get giganews unlimited, they have no problems maxing out a 100 mbit/s connection :)
