Can't you adjust the QoS settings to allow usenet traffic a higher priority?

Maybe your Firewall is blocking Newsleecher. Try removing Newsleecher from the list of applications allowed internet access and re-adding it.

I don't know, but maybe your problem is Newsleecher doesn't require IE anymore and maybe crossover does not support the way Newsleecher connects to the Super Search servers?

Sounds like one of your configuration files is corrupt, usually the main setup.dat file. Try moving all of the .dat files out of the Newsleecher\data\ directory and run NL again. If there error goes away then it was one of those files. You could move a few of the files back in until you find the cor...

If you don't mind entering the settings anew just delete the all. Otherwise it is a trial and error process. Backup all the configuration files to another folder and delete one. If this doesn't fix your problem replace it from your backup and try deleting an other file. Begin with setup.dat it is a ...

Actually yes, it seems one of your configuration files is corrupt, the one which controls the column-view in the download queue. You can find the name/location/explanation of the config files in this topic, delete the one which controls the listview of the queue tab, that would be lvq.dat. http://ww...

Every time I change software versions I have to tell my firewall to allow the software through. I would not call that nonsense.

In that case, maybe your configuration files are damaged. Try removing them. In the FAQ Forum is a post detailing the location and the use of the files. Just removing the setup.dat file might be enough. A consequence of removing the files is of course that you'll have to re-do the changes in your se...

I have no idea what the normal retention for teranews is, but if it is 2 days older articles should be removed from the queue when download fails.

Have you looked at the news&log tab to see if any error are returned?

In my opinion it is visible enough, click on the speed limit text in the menu-bar. The only problem is that it is not immediately obvious it is clickable, in that sense it is 'hidden'. The groups button next to it suffers the same problem.

Re: Multiple Features Request (most are simple)

Is it possible to download headers from a certain number of days? Like for instance, could I download only the last 5 days worth of headers? No, specifying a number of days for fetching headers, is not supported by the usenet protocol. It's only possible to specify a range of headers. True, but lik...

Another solution might be, stopping your AV from checking the Newsleecher downloads.
