Re: How do I filter encrypted headers in a.b.boneless

Sorry but NewsLeecher doesn't have a filtering recipe system like that yet. How about now Smudge? Would it be terribly difficult to build a detection feature into Newsleecher which would skip encrypted file header download? There seem to be too many people using Usenet as a cheap encrypted Cloud St...

Wow, December 2009 and nothing since eh? I was just about to post the same request. The reasoning is that most of my Internet comms go through a VPN, it has become "Bittorrent 101" that be done nowadays. However, I don't need the VPN for Usenet downloads, and I'm loathe to suffer the bandwidth hit r...

5.0B15 Decided I Was Unlicensed This Morning

Though my license doesn't expire till April 15, 2013, this morning NL decided otherwise and refused my Newsleecher member area password. The only change from last evening (where all was well) was connecting through a different VPN. I was able to use "Install License (Giganews) however.

Supersearch Bookmark Bar Auto-Show Feature

The bookmark bar appears at the left border when the mouse hovers there for a time. Unfortunately that "time" often corresponds to the time required to select an item in Supersearch results. This leads to a bookmark search being conducted instead of a Supersearch result operation. That requires anot...

Similar Issue in 5.0b3

OK. The way to end this was to kill NL, then delete the directory containing the corrupted files. Next NL startup results in a "missing" description of the file set in R&E. Delete that and it's end of story. Whatever works, I guess.

Similar Issue in 5.0b3

I have a set stuck on 83% 'Verifying" - it's a corrupt/incomplete set, the RARs have been deleted by R&E, the only PAR file left is a PAR of the PAR files (so many idiots posting these nowadays). I can't delete this entry in Repair & Extract, I can't shutdown Newsleecher without killing it's process...

4.0 b20 GUI Freezes when Posting Reply

The download queue continues merrily along, but any attempt to access the frozen GUI results in an error "ding" by Win 7 x86. On might assume the post window is active, just invisible.

4.0 Beta 14 - Spacebar OPENS rather than Queues files from within SS now?

Both <Enter> and <Spacebar> open files rather than adding them to the queue now. Is this deliberate? Is it an odd tweak I've accidently set?

"Access Violation" in NL v3.x When Selecting a Post in SuperSearch

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried it and see no improvement. :( At least it's only a very minor issue (to me). The memory address appears consistent, which I don't understand (not a programmer). Newsleecher is run with different programs most every time it's launched - why does it always err in ...
