Just had it happen again, but in a much nastier way. I started up header downloads, then switched to the SuperSearch tab and a garden-variety error popped up. As I was trying to fill out the bottom pane to explain what I was doing when the error occurred, another "Error 4234" box popped up. Then ano...

More comprehensive filtering needed

A real filter mechanism is needed, instead of the simple filter on poster and subject.

Full regular expression filtering on all items in the overview record, with the option of being case-sensitive or not.

Just like what all real news clients provide.

5.0B3 Ease of use issue

In the "Articles" view of v4.0, clicking on the name of a virtual group would display the current articles in that group. Switching to another virtual group involved simply clicking on the name of another virtual group. With 5.0B3, I have to un-check the checkbox on one virtual group and then check ...

Get rid of the popup when I hit the SuperSearch "Stop" button

The one that says

You have either pressed the SuperSearch "Stop" button.
or
...

Surely you can tell the difference, and I don't need a popup to tell me that I just pushed a button, complete with another button that I have to push to make the message go away.

4.0 Beta 20: Reset Hanging Connections timeout setting is ignored

I managed to get the timeout set to 120, but even so, I still get

Code: Select all

12:31:00 PM Resetting hanging connection on the "my.provider.com" server. (61 seconds of inactivity)
But what I really want is the disable checkbox to come back.

Re: Supersearch spins up my sleeping external HD

NL 4.0 Beta 19 Windows XP Pro SP3 I have an external HD (eSATA interface) which spins down when it's been idle. If it's idle when I open NL, it will spin up as soon as I press the "SuperSearch Service" tab on the toolbar. This is probably just a side-effect of some Windows directory service call, b...

Maybe not a "bug", in the sense that it's "working as designed", but if the files hang around when there are no files remaining to be transferred, it's certainly an "error."

Beta 10 - I/O Error 32?

XP Pro SP3

Downloading via an NZB.

Just noticed entries like this in the log:

Code: Select all

3:25:43 PM Thread Error(342d) "D:\newsbins\-375081322" - I/O error 32
What's that about?
Is this just a new way to complain about missing parts?
