Re: Seriously, is NewsLeecher DYING... or DEAD?

It's been fun and great while it lasted... But with slow SSL speed and lack and software support with the latest obfuscation methods, i think you're about to lost a customer of many years. There are many other software \ Usenet out there and after many months of waiting, it's time to say good bye :...

Re: Seriously, is NewsLeecher DYING... or DEAD?

I've been an avid user of NewsLeecher for a LONG time, and am saddened by the lack of updates. And the SuperSearch search results are absolutely pitiful! I've looked into the other Usenet providers and their newsreader clients are terrible compared to NewsLeecher. Can an administrator please be hon...

What happened to subsearch field in SuperSearch?

A couple versions ago the subsearch field in SuperSearch went away. For example, if I SuperSearch'd, "DVD 2014", and got my results, there was another field at the top where I could type, "*.avi", and it would instantly display only those files within my list. I used that a LOT! Please bring it back?

Please bring back saving search result filter with bookmarks!

This helps when you are searching for a particular season of a TV show--for example, search for "Californication", "s05" (search filter) so that it only brings up season 5-- and being able to save those settings. Other than that, I like the new interface (but you should move SuperSearch to the last ...

Missing articles (further research)...

If I go to SuperSearch, and search for "dirt 105" (for season 1, episode 05 of Dirt series), I get a list of articles in 'alt.binaries.multimedia' with an Age of 5.4 days. Then if I go to my subscribed newsgroup ('alt.binaries.multimedia') and do an update, then click the 'old' checkbox to show all ...

Re: About the "whiners"... :shock"

The pulldown-menu for groups was removed, what exactly bugged you about it since you feel that Newsleecher is a better product without it? Ahh, the old double reverse psychology question trick! <grin> Actually, that's a smart question, weedhopper. The answer lies in the two words in at the beginnin...

About the "whiners"... :shock"

I apologize, mmmBacon , for the "whiners" comment. You are right-- it was a cheap shot. I was referring to the 2% of posters that say things like, "...hate it", "...awful", "change everything back", "has there been any head-trauma recently?", and "...CRAP!", etc., used to express the efforts of Spir...

I agree

I agree! There are too many great new features to ever go back. CHANGE IS GOOD PEOPLE! (I guess the whiners could go back to using Outlook Express as their newsgroup reader)

Bravo! I like changes to B3 (with one suggestion)...

I like the UI changesto Beta 3-- a LOT! Only small suggestion  is to pushbuttons on the filters. Currently, they are acting like a "double negative"-- opposite from what a pushbutton should be (i.e. pushed=on, like a washing machine, or old car radio), so instead of a push being "don't show xx...

Auto refresh (or refresh button) in File Mgr...

I've noticed that sometimes when I move or copy files that the File Manager list doesn't refresh, and there's not a way to refresh the list unless you click on another directory first. Also, in the Active Group section, if the "Downloaded" search filter is unchecked (i.e. don't view things that have...
