Links under "Latest news" open in IE

All the links under "Latest news" only open in Internet Explorer instead of my default browser which is Firefox. The links to "The Homepage" and "Version History" above are okay, just any in the news items below.

This checked on just released beta 9.

I think the problem, and I mention this in another thread, is that we are really "alpha" testing not "beta" testing. New functions should only be added to during "alpha" testing and should be restricted to a smaller number of testers. Once you're happy with the features added, working or a bit buggy...

BTW. I have set my two folders to: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\NewsLeecher (my settings all came back - phew!) (well most did anyway). and E:\Downloads\NewsLeecher\Temp\ (this should speed things up for me, at least prevent NL bringing my pc to a halt when moving files from temp area (which was o...

Yeah way to go - %APPDATA% doesn't exist under XP which is why it's all fckd up!

As I recall, beta testing should never involve new ideas/functions, that's for alpha testing. Beta testing is for fixing bugs in the current function set.

And yes, why all the Vista nonsense now!

NL v3 hangs on starting

Every now and again NL hangs on my system when I start it - usually when the last session was shutdown whilst viewing the File Manager tab. It will also sometimes hang when after it starts on one of the other tabs I switch to the File Manager tab. Normally after killing the task, clearing the cachev...

Server misc option "Use for Open/Read article"

Would it be possbile to add a 4th "Misc" option to the server settings that would allow me to dedicate it also to "Open/Read" articles so that they don't get queued on my main download server?

"When empty" and "Prompt when closing NL"

I discovered that if the option for "When empty" is set to "Shutdown computer" and the warning for "You are about to close down Newsleecher. Are you sure....?" is enabled, then NL doesn't shutdown as the prompt appears and blocks it. I don't want to disable the prompt as it saves me, and I suspect m...

The "NewNews" command is extremely resource intensive. Probably more servers have this command disabled than Xpat. I think query'ing every 1000th header would be faster, and be more compatible. And if you sinply did an "xover" command every 1000th article to query the date, would not be resource in...

It'll be kinda hard to implement since there is no way to know what date a headers has before you have downloaded it. I think this is covered: RFC 977 February 1986 Network News Transfer Protocol 3.8. The NEWNEWS command 3.8.1. NEWNEWS NEWNEWS newsgroups date time [GMT] [<distribution>] A li...

[Wishlist] Option to specify number of headers by age

Is there any chance, since I've requested this since v1, that NL could also have the option that allows me to set downloads to only get me the last x days headers? With groups that hold millions of headers it would be really nice to be able to only download the last 2 days of headers when I know ful...

I concur with everything written above.

v2.1 seems far better in terms of performance and doesn't seem to be bringing my pc to its knees with each download. Good work.
