Out of memory crash in v4.0b24

Out of memory
This was during a header update of ~11million headers. I'm assuming this hasn't been fixed in the final because the release notes don't mention anything like it...

EDIT: I should probably also mention that this was with turbo compressed headers on.

There is another fairly serious issue that's affected the last couple releases, and still exists in b23 as well. When I update a group's headers with no filtering in place, I should not then be able to go into supersearch, search for something, and find articles from that group that never appear in ...

It looks like b22 completely ruined my d/l queue, under WinXP SP3. I cannot restart files that are paused; b22 changes status to "queued" but they never start downloading. The only way I can get the download is to remove and re-add the files. I have a lot of paused files in my queue.

SS down but not reporting the fact

When searching for anything at all (tested in both categories), SS pretends it didn't find anything, but when I search for "TV" as an example of something that should give me too many hits to list, this shows in logs: 5:52:46 AM * SS Connect Info : "Connection timed out". I'm on v4.0b18 and would ex...

SS might not be "down" in the conventional sense, but the beta date bug makes SS completely useless at finding posts since May 1.

I am getting pretty much the same thing, but on giganews. New posts are being reported as old (most in the range of 50-60 days, but some are at 220). My version is 4.0b16RC3. The last time I see new posts being reported correctly is 1.2 days ago by NL's reckoning.

I did that already, disabling all auto-updates then enabling it for a 12-hour schedule and forcing an all-group update. The random updates are just that--completely random. And it kills my system until I can get it to respond long enough to reset the connection or wait it out.

So this is still happening. Any ideas? It just did a random update at about 5:30PM when I specifically told it to do them at 1:30AM and PM. I know it wasn't still updating from earlier because it wasn't updating 3 hours ago. It's making my computer unusable until I can get the mouse over, bring NL u...

It's kind of ironic that McAfee picks it up when it misses so many real viruses.

Auto-update issues

I'm running 4.0b9. I set auto-update for 12 hours beginning around 1:30, but NL is updating random groups at all hours of the day. I don't want it to do this, since it spikes my CPU to 100% and makes it hard to do anything else with my computer during the spikes. Can someone tell me why it's updatin...

4.0b8 CPU issues

I'm downloading and receiving headers at the same time, which is using 90-97% of my CPU and making my computer otherwise unusable. The computer is pretty old (2GHz Athlon single-core), but I didn't have this problem under b7. And I just noticed that header downloads are only running at around 200KB/...

b4 doesn't even start now. Installed over b3 release, Win XP 32-bit, SP3. It comes up briefly in the task manager, then silently exits. EDIT: Something's really broken here. I moved everything to a backup folder in case there was a corrupt startup file and reinstalled b3, but it's doing the same thi...

Not really a bug, but an oversight: if there are more than 101 files in a rar set (so files go from .rar to .r00 through .r99, then to .s00 on up), the .s## files don't get grouped with the .r## files.
