No, you're not paying attention. 3.0 absolutely does not work with the new SS, according to Smudge. 3.5 and up might not work for you either judging by the number of people having problems, but some chance is better than no chance.

Read what Smudge wrote on the previous page, then update NL.

after further testing it appears that general searches were using 70.86.176.98 and audio searches were using .100 consistently (pictures used .99, but I never use that search). So I'm now redirecting general searches and audio searches to the correct servers. An easier way to work around these sorts...

v3.8 final here. This sounds like a stale table somewhere at theplanet.com (apparently where SS is hosted). I've worked around it by mangling packets at the firewall to go to the correct IP when it sees traffic for the old one, but that probably isn't an option for most of the other people experienc...

Here's the problem as I see it...SS was working, you guys moved it, and now it doesn't work. It was working before and nothing has changed on my end (so going through the standard "is IE set up right?" steps doesn't help, though I gave it a shot anyway). A fresh install of a new version of SS on a n...

SS certainly is still down, as verified from a brand new install on another computer (after restarting didn't work).

Thanks for replying. I have not been able to get the news page to load for some time now. IE6 loads both "test" pages that SS connects to just fine. www.newsleecher.com is in the Trusted Sites zone, and meta refresh is on. NL is a trusted application in my personal firewall and newsleecher.com is no...

Or anyone, really. What could be causing this problem? I'd like to get it fixed before the .par files expire.

Hi Since the SuperSearch retention upgrade, the service is now split between 3 different servers. NewsLeecher versions prior to 3.0 don't support more than 1 SuperSearch server, which is why the Audio / Images categories don't work for you. I've managed to keep the, by far, biggest category compati...

Neato. Now Supersearch hangs at "initializing" forever. This is with 3.8b7 (just installed), installed to an empty directory, run bare-bones with only my giganews account login info entered, and firewall completely disabled. Supersearch was working (just not on audio groups) fine with my old install...

I'm running "the latest beta" (see above), which at this point in time is 3.8b6 :P

With what version? I've been able to "pause" (stop, have to restart manually) header downloads for at least the last three beta versions.

One thing that I've been wishing NL had lately is an exclusion filter for various screens...so for instance, I can search for a band and put "dvd" in the exclude filter, which would cut out DVDs from the band while still showing mp3s and rar files.
