For me the RnE isn't working anymore with the Beta. It is initializing files and it starts to verify, but then hangs. When I try to extract, it says "Could not extract set". Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm extracting onto a mediabox over the (home)network. The setting are the sa...

Hmmmm. Should I try to follow your instructions or wait for Beta 2. I'm thinking, I'm thinking!

Just kidding. I followed your instructions and all is copacetic.

Thanks very much for your very prompt response, Smudge. :D

HELP - Problem with connection panel

Help!! I normally have the connections panel set to show the individual connections (4 for one server, 2 for the other). I noticed the new right-click option to put in into "image preview" mode or something like that, so I tried it out of curiosity. Now I can't put it back to showing the individual...

When you use the search result filter you don't get a count anywhere of how many search results are left after you enter terms into the filter box.
This is the only annoying thing about beta 1 that I found after a day of use.

I seriously beg to differ with Nixter about "I have never seen such unwarranted, despicable behavior..." If he really believes that, he hasn't been around much. Or "This is bordering on criminal behavior." Ever try to get support from HP when your laptop is total down? That's criminal. My sub is up ...

I'm having problems, too -- I use Kaspersky anti-virus and I keep on getting the "unable to receive a reply from the Supersearch service" box after a few seconds.

I was having no problems last night or this morning. Started this afternoon.

Dunno, Chaos. I for one *really really* liked what I saw in the 4.0 beta and can't wait till they get their completeness problems worked out. I agree with Sunfox that binsearch has been showing some completeness problems, too. Although it's only for videos, nzbindex.nl does the nzb job for me in the...

You're talking about the message on the main forum page, right? That was a problem last week, but as of today SS appears to be indexing new posts just fine.

Also, which version of SS is up? I'm using 3.9 and it appears to be up and working okay. Is 4.0 up?

Hey, Izvk, I feel your anger and frustration and I agree with you that their communication with their users is shoddy. I just think that UE is a poor alternative and I'll wait out the NL folks. If you download and install 3.9 over 4.0 you'll have to take a few minutes to reset some of the settings (...

Be nice, Izvk. Insulting Spiril and Smudge won't fix the product. These are professionals, they've put together a nice product and they've apparently hit a bump in the road. I'm sure they'll be back on track soon. To the best of my recollection 3.9 was working just fine, I don't remember it being br...

Thanks, Smudge. I might very well do that. I'll be looking for an update to 4.0.

Would there be a way to let us know that the underlying database is fixed? I can live with program bugs once the database bugs are sorted out.

Could someone please pull Smudge out of the other forums and have him give us an inkling on what's going on with SS and when we can expect a resolution to this? Thank you.

Hey berliner6. I been trying Usenet Explorer as well. It may not be as easy or pretty as newsleecher but it works pretty god dawn well! Now it does have a learning curve I will be honest but it is like back to the old schools days a little! Have you used newsgroups before their was newsleecher supe...

They took all the posts and removed them from the post museum.
And they still charge the people
Thirty bucks just to see 'em.
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got till it's gone?
