If you go into the download queue you can right click and unpause the article.

To stop this happening again there is a tickbox in setting to disable spam and RAR in RAR detection, have a gander :)

Rename the NewsLeecher folder from AppData\Roaming\ to something else. Check if issue still present, NL should create a new NewsLeecher folder when it finds the old one missing with fresh settings... Hopefully that will fix it and it was just a corrupt file, if not let us know and we can suggest oth...

Depends what version you're updating to and the consistency of your settings, but no you shouldn't lose settings.

backup %AppData%Newsleecher before update and you'll be fine.
