Try closing NL and reopen it a few times?

try pressing Shift + down arrow see if that puts it beyond 1500

Also check log, for example mine says:

18:09:36 * SuperSearch Conn. Info: Gen.IP="199.187.121.118" :: Ero.IP="199.187.121.118" :: Ports="443", "443" :: Retention="1800".

Probably Kaspersky trying to do packet inspection at HTTPS level and failing miserably. It's not the only firewall that does it and won't be the last :)

You will need to use the speedlimiter in newsleecher to allow some reserve bandwidth for your other devices. Usually, things like this do not interfere too much but it can depend on your ISP or router equipment, clearly in this case maxing out your internet connection on one device means others get ...

Looking at your email address I think there is a strong chance your connection is being throttled by your ISP. I would phone customer support first of all and ask them outright do they bandwidth shape/throttle USENET. If they admit to doing so, that is most likely your problem. Please try a continuo...

afaik ALL of the configuration files used by NewsLeecher (short of file type extension registration and perhaps the anti piracy stuff) is held in %AppData%\NewsLeecher The location will always be varied from XP to Vista and above because of the different user profile paths used. Old very old version...

Just rename appdata\newsleecher to newsleecherbackup. Uninstall v4, install v5 and see what happens. If it doesn't work just uninstall V5, rename the appdata newsleecher folder back to Newsleecher and you'll be where you are now.

Sounds like some settings got corrupted, either they were already corrupted and the 5.0 didn't respond well to them, or they got corrupted in the upgrade process. I imagine if you did clean install of v5 it would work perfectly. The configuration files are the main weakness of Newsleecher, when they...
