Re: Exclude filters don't work

I'm not sure if the exclude filters worked in any of the betas, but they don't work in 8 or 10. When you enter text in to subj excl. or poster excl. it simply ignores that and continues to show articles containing the entered text. The exclude filters are not recognized (will not have any effect) i...

Re: SS Not Searching alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.soundtracks

It is listed on the form as being indexed, however it is not. I power-posted a number of things to that group, and none are indexed by SS. Also, anything in that group which you search for in SS, does not show up. I just searched for a few things posted to that group and they were all found in the ...

Tiscali might be capping your speed.
Take a look at the
Fair Usage Policy. Is it possible this is the cause of your speed problems?

Outlook express worked fine. I do not have firewall softwall installed and I made sure that the Microsoft Firewall was disabled, so it doesn't seem to be a firewall problem. Make sure that the server address in the Server Address field in each of the server profiles is correct. Which ports are spec...

If you are still having the problem, disable NNTP scanning in Avast and see if the problem is alleviated.

Licenses will not expire until the renewal mechanism is in place. A few days notice will be given on the home page (this should also appear in the News tab in NL).

Are the messages there and then disappear upon the next update or do they never appear? No they are not there at all. They are just not showing up at all - not even as incomplete - which at least tell you that the parts are possibly there. Is it whole "sets" of posts or random multi-part bins that ...

Re: How come I can only see headers from ~5 days ago?

My newsgroup server has a retention of ~40 days. Why is it I only see around up ~5days of headers in the group? Is there a filter or something because before I restarted newsleecher it showed all the headers! Set "Options | Download | Group Caching | Days To Keep" to the highest retention available...

I must be missing something. When I downloaded the 100000+ headers (say 70 days old to 30 days old), I lost them after I shut down NL. Check all of your settings as Smudge explained. The default Days To Keep settings are 7 days. So, if your setup had 7 days in "Options | Download | Group Caching | ...

I want to search for articles containing a word, but for a specific newsgroup, not for all newsgroups is it possible? (eg search for pdf in alt.binaries.books only) I guess that your question concerns SuperSearch. Enter the following search string: pdf group:alt.binaries.books Of course, the group ...

Re: How to specify download folder when downloading files from a nzb file?

Let's say I were to download a .nzb file from a website, I then double click it in windows and it automatically downloads into the default folder. How do I make it so that I can specify which folder to download the files into before it starts downloading? Aside from just saving files to the default...
