I registered with the forum just now so I could say "ME TOO", but I thought that might be tedious, repetitive and really quite annoying, so....

I would like to take this time to THX the admin, who is obviously doing a great job since I've been using the program and the service for a month or two and this is actually the first time I could really even comment.

Spiril I take it, is DA MAN!!

BTW any chance an email could be sent, when everythin's a hummin' again, cause unlike most of the world I'm 10+ hrs ahead? OZ makes things brutal sometimes.
G'Day to all... all tho its tommorow here.....

Is there any news about what happened, and if they are working on it? :(

I think some kinda status update via e-mail would be great... Would make things much easer... and would hopefully remove all teh SS is down treads

Sending out emails to thousands of users would just put a load on the server and possibly cause problems. I bet the email server would get added to SPAM server lists which would cause problems for even more people. A better way would be either to check the web forum for issues or if my request for RSS Support in NL is implemented then you would know a lot faster.

Doesn't work here either, SS keeps initializing and news page doesn't load.

This is a different problem. If NL can't load the news page, it can't initialize the SS engine.

If you are using Windows 2003 Server, add www.newsleecher.com to the Trusted Zones list in Internet Options.

If you are using a firewall, disable it or set an exception for Newsleecher.exe.

If you are using Avast AV, turn off the NNTP scanner.

Check the Tech Support forum for more information and solutions.

Got it working again, problem was Internet Explorer wich is used by the NL program to open the newspage. Because of security settings, 'Meta refresh' was disallowed, that seems to stop de homepage from loading. (I didn't notice it because I use firefox for browsing).

Possibly a new bug with the new version

Post by PiForever » Tue Mar 29, 2005 1:46 pm

search for "40482" and "3829" and you will find that the .nfo files are missing...this is new. Those files do exist on the servers but the new SS design is missing them.

BTW, I'm talking about the XboX games

Yes, there are extensions missing from the SSearh results that were previously included.
Audio groups, which I find are now in Main Stuff, are missing:
0 part files
.nfo
.cue
.log
.sfv
.md5 (guessing on this one. just looking in the last 2 days)
.m3u
.txt

Spiril, if these could be returned to SSearch reuslts it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Edit: added .txt

SS working

Post by retec64 » Wed Mar 30, 2005 8:28 am

My SuperSearch didn't work. So I was looking for an answer in the forum.
I saw that more people had the same problem. So I'm, not alone. I'm also a paying member for NL.
I pushed on the little Reset button in the SuperSearch-window. Now it's working again.
If someone else can try this and it's working for him/her too, than maybe that's the answer to this problem.

Somehow the function to include the extentions mentioned above stopped working after Super Search hit the 2GB memory barrier.

It should be working again from this minute... Let me know if it doesn't
