supersearch is down AGAIN

Post by djroc »

It figures that as soon as I upgrade the trial version to the paid version, it would stop working, but Superseach is down in NY as of 3am!!!![/quote]

My SuperSearch hasnt worked for a number of days.
When I try to search for ANYTHING, it just looks like it's searching. Sometimes it comes up with the error that the SuperSearch is temporary down.
But most of the times it just stands there searching with no ending.

I'm using Newsleecher 3.8 Final on Windows XP SP2

Hmmm very weird...
I guess I could try the beta and see if that works. Although I'm no fan of installing beta's... :)

DaneX: read over the suggestions in the Getting SuperSearch to Work thread and the Firewall/Antivirus compatibility thread for possible reasons it isn't working for you.
Please be aware of and use the following pages...
Services Status Page : SuperSearch and Usenet Access server status, retention, server load, indexing time, etc.
Support Request Form : Use this if you have a problem with billing or account status. The forum is only for NewsLeecher application issues.

I had 3 days service left for NewLeecher so I subscribed to NewsLeecher + SuperSearch. Is there a waiting period? Without changing any options or defaults all I get on any search terms is Unable to Reply,

Edit: I disabled avast! On-Access Scanner and now it works. Any idea what avast! settings I should change?
