Nothing New for these people....

Post by dlmvegas »

I've been using BinSearch for my stuff. There is no way to contact these clowns at this site. No phone for sure. Takes them days to respond. They've got your money and probably don't really give a rats if their lousy Supersearch is working or not. Ever since they jacked up the price their service has gone to hell. They probably aren't even monitoring the damn thing themselves. Kinda like Microsoft where you are their testers for all the bugs.

I will probably not renew when my subscription is up. This is BS.

Again updates on this problem or even admissions to there being a problem from anyone from Newsleecher is conspicuous by it's absence. These clowns don't give a toss.

Well i'm trying the Giganews special offer on Newsbin, cant say its as user friendly as NL but then i'm just going to have to learn as NL seems to be going downhill.
Just glad i only paid for Supersearch and the not the beta version of NL, whats happened to this place, there seems to be no support nothing anymore ???

ss not being updated, for sure.

Post by rhawk301 »

Definitely confirming that ss service not being updated. I had to use binsearch to get my latest stuff.

I come up for renewal in October, and will definitely be putting other options on the table. Please fix your problems, but better yet, address the issues in an open forum.

If you having staffing issues, then let us know. I have used SS for years, and keep coming back because how easy the service is. Do you need another data center with a backup search engine? Lets talk.

I meant that SS gives results again, new posts are indeed missing.

Everything is working fine again, new posts are no problem to find and I can download them without any problems. More people I know who had problems have now a good ss again.

People should really specify which version they are using as there are TWO COMPLETELY SEPARATE Super Search servers.

If you're using 3.9 you're using the OLD one, and from reports it appears to have stopped updating entirely for some days now (not the first time something like that has happened).

If you're using 4.0 you're using the NEW one, which is currently working as much as it has been for the last month. There was a massive burp in all headers caused by GigaNews (or whatever), which I don't think is going to backfill, but there's new complete posts indexing right now. However there's also the massive erotica "missing posts" issue that's been going on for well over a month now and makes that server entirely useless for anyone that knows what's missing.

Spiril's last post was June 14th, 2010. That's nearly 3 months ago. It's all nice and noble that he's helping someone else with something, but he needs to realize that the little people here are getting restless at the absense of the king, and an angry mob with pitchforks heading up to the castle isn't far away. Smudge also seems to be staying out of these threads for the past week or so, but he has to realize that we all have a very valid gripe here, and the deafening silence on the matter is making it ten times worse that it would be if someone would just step up and say something definite.

We're here because we LIKE NewsLeecher and we LIKE SuperSearch - what we don't like is the fact that it's NOT WORKING!
