I am repeatedly having the same issue as above. Have to click/tell SS to fetch the article information five to ten times. I get immediate "down for maintenance" message (no way in hell it could actually happen that fast) and eventually I'll get through. This all occurs in about 30 seconds time. It's getting really annoying and I kept waiting for something to happen. I figured it was probably related to Giganews upping their retention and SS not being designed for it. It really needs to be fixed, it's very very annoying.
same problem, it has been forever now it works this way, except that now it seems to be worse at night in france.
What i don't understand is,
when i finally succeed to get a listing (10 tries usually...), then i select then ctrl+y or anything like to download, supersearch try _again_ to connect - and often fails (frozen or down, same pb). I think it's not right to check twice for the same stuff for a registered user, especially when it doesn't work like this
location : paris, france, newshosting (which is not related with supersearch anyway)
i suppose this is the supersearch server which can't stand requests from all other the world, and that some more bandwidth / server should be added.
But => the search "go" then immediate "server may be down" => there is definitely a bug there, can't be that fast to check.
The frozen static (awaiting answer) is a bug too, it should have a timeout, then try to re-request, u usually have to close & relaunch newsleecher
