NewsLeecher Command Line Parameters

Post by Spiril » Fri Oct 03, 2014 9:49 am

It's possible to launch up to 4 configurable 3rd-party programs and command lines from within NewsLeecher.

This can be done in 2 ways:

1.
Either by selecting the 'Tools' / 'Run 3rd-Party Programs' menu-item on the mainmenu, and thereafter click one of the 'Run Program' links.

2.
Or by using the shortcut keys Alt+F9, Alt+F10, Alt+F11 and Alt+F12 associated with the 'Run Program' links in the mainmenu.

To setup the command line that NewsLeecher should execute, follow step 1 above, but click the 'Setup Program' link instead of the 'Run Program' link.

VARIABLES:

To make the launcher a bit more powerful, NewsLeecher will search for specific variable names in the command line before execution and replace the known variable names with associated data.

Variable Name 1:
%nl_current_folder%
Replaced With:
The path currently active in the NewsLeecher 'File Manager'.

Variable Name 2:
%nl_default_download_folder%
Replaced With:
The path for the default NewsLeecher download folder.

Variable Name 3:
%nl_selected_subject%
Replaced With:
The subject line of the first selected article in the Active Group view. Note, if the 'Search' page is active, NewsLeecher will use the subject line of the first selected article in the Search Result view instead.

Variable Name 4:
%nl_user_string%
Replaced With:
When NewsLeecher sees this variable, it will popup a text-string input box and replace the variable name with the string you enter into the input box.
