r&e wont extract if diskspace is low after you've freed disk space

if repair and extract decides that the disk space is too low for it to extract the files, there is no way to reset it except to restart newsleecher after you've made more disk space available (either through newsleecher options or by deleting things off the hard drive)

Have you tried selecting the entry, then hit the refresh button? That should make it check for disk space again. Note that you need about twice the space the set is for RnE to extract.
Fill in your bugs so NL will get better.

I have tried that, and it doesnt work. Also, I know I have enough space because if i close and re-open newsleecher then it will successfully begin extracting. its just that i have no way to force it out of "not enough disk space" mode while its running

Confirmed on beta 8 through beta 16.
Beta 17 solved it for me.
Haven't been using the final long enough to know how that's behaving.
Be nice..... We were all newbies once.......
