NL50 RnE: Cannot extract to a path >260 chars

I found a RnE set that gave me an error:
Unable to extract archive

First of all, would you finally report the REASON?

Secondly, upon trying manually, WinRAR reported it cannot extract to a path longer than 260 characters. Now, WinRAR is a pretty archaic program, so I tried 7-Zip which does the job just fine.

A path in Windows can be 32767 characters long. Just saying.
This was introduced in Windows 2000, iirc. So just a little while ago. Again, just saying.

Anyway, a fix is needed.

Thanks for the tip about 7-Zip. I have long suffered from this problem. I have found that extracting to a very short folder name, one off the root, is about the only way I can get around it. Also creating my own NZB files to download with shorter names helps. I will give the 7-Zip a try.

Please do, because 7-zip is even free-er than WinRAR ;)

Regardless, this oughta be fixed in NL as well. Sticking to the 260 chars limit is silly.

I hope you already found a solution to that. If you need more help in the future and encounter same problem, try to use a Long Path tool. It can extract to a path longer than 260 characters.
