Uppercase file on error doesn't work

Post by Thijssie »

I checked the boxes "Error check downloaded files" and "Uppercase article on error". But it doens't work.

Nothing get's uppercased even when some rar's are missing 1 block.

I'm using v.3.7 final.

I don't know, there is a difference, as far as I know, between a file with an error and an incomplete file. So the file being incomplete doesn't have to mean that it didn't pass the error check.

Would be nice if they could add this support.

Escpecially with downloading mp3's without par files.

Could I request this somewhere? Send a mail or something.

The wishlist forum would be the place to request new features.

NewsLeecher does convert filenames to uppercase when the resulting file is incomplete and that NL “knows” that the file is incomplete. This still works in v3.7final. The log entries are shown in red. If there is a circumstance that causes NL to *not* behave this way, I have not yet seen this.
Thijssie, how are you sending the files to the Queue? Does this problem occur when, for example, an mp3 is shown as complete, but a segment is not available on your servers? Anything that you can add would be helpful.

As a test, you can move (*not* delete) NewsLeecher\data\setup.dat out of the data directory. Open NL and set the proper options and see if it now works.

Sorry for the late reply.

I have 2 ways of downloading things.

First I use binsearch.info to make an nzb of a movie and then download.

Second I update an mp 3 group and use right mouse and choose leech.

I have with both problems. With the first I cannot see what is incomplete cause I make a nzb from a site, but with the second I can see what's incomplete cause then it turns red.

I replaced the setup.dat out of the data folder into the newsleecher folder.

I hope this helps.
