Are you downloading to that drive? How do you have NL set, because it can pause automatically when you have an x amount of drive space left. Turn that down or off. Perhaps the drive for temp files is full.
Fill in your bugs so NL will get better.

in the Options>Advanced>Folders screen is where you can define the temp download location. By default it is a temp folder in your profile which is almost always on the C drive. If that drive is small, you will have problems downloading large files.

This is a different location than where you have desginated the "Default Downloads" folder. That is set in the Options>Download screen.

You could even then set the download of certain files to a different location by using the Leech Specify option when queuing files.

If you have a 2nd hard drive for your downloads, you might want to move the temp location to the same drive.

in the Options>Advanced>Folders screen is also an option to change your configuration data files. normally these don't take up too much space unless you are downloading millions of headers and saving them in a local cache.
