Hello.
This has been bugging me for quite a while now.
I select "download all headers" for a group. What happens then is that NL downloads a random number of headers, sometimes 1, sometimes several million (almost never), the average number of headers downloaded seems to be about 100 000.
Downloading all the headers for any of the big groups requires sitting in front of the computer and constantly clicking "download all headers".
NL 4 beta 18, newshosting. This has been a problem for about a year now.

Header download stops
Bump.
Am I the only one who experience this problem or what?
It it <<Extremely>> annoying!
A bit more details if that makes a difference.
W2k8 r1
4gb ram
plenty o´ disk
Nothing strange in the log.
Deleting the preferences-dir makes no difference.
Is is possible to disable the turbo-headers to see if that makes a difference?

Sounds like the connection is dropping or is being killed so the downloads just stop.
You can disable the turbo header downloads by setting the "Article Downlaod Allow Xfeat Compression" setting to FALSE in the advanced tweaks section of the settings.

Made some tests.
If I download something while I update the headers, it won't stop. But as soon as the download is over, it stops after a few seconds.
I can get about 20k to 300k headers, if I don't download anything.
I just downloaded some gigs and got over 800k headers, as the download was over, the header download stopped about 30k headers later.
