Better to have cache and download on the same disk or separate?

Hello,

I want to move my download folder to another HDD. Is it better to move also the cache on this drive?

If the final file is written from zero with the temp files, it's better to have them on different drive to share the work.
But I find on this old topic:
This is because it is combining all the parts together and then writes the single file to the hard drive. The problem is compounded by fragmented hard drives and if your download directory is on a different partition/drive from where the NL cache is.

How fast is your download speed? Unless it is faster than 100Mbps, I wouldn't worry about where this folder is.

Oh no, it's a lot slower!

My question is for my drives. I want to ease their work.

If the temp files are not used in the final file, like an archive decompression, it's better to do it a another disk because it avoid the head to move on the same disk between read/write positions.

Might be one for Spiril but I would imagine they are not used in the final file
