Capital lettered file names that are "missing"

Post by bigolyt » Mon May 12, 2014 5:12 am

I've downloaded a few things that have been "missing" or something from the NG's but the file actually downloads, correct size, name, except its in all caps. And quick par wont fix it or rename it.

Curious why, or what that means? Can I just rename the files manually, since the data is actually there?

If NewsLeecher saves the filename in all caps it means that file is corrupt or incomplete. Not sure why QuickPar wouldn't be able to repair/rename it. Try using the Repair and Extract feature of NewsLeecher. It will give more info in the log when trying to repair the file.

Quickpar is showing it as missing, so newsleecher reports the same info

QuickPar should be able to find the files even if they are in uppercase or even named incorrectly.

Most likely the par2 index file you have is for a different set of files, even if it looks like it is for that archive. Click on the Add button in Quickpar and add in the downloaded archive files. They will probably be listed in Quickpar as having 0 compatible blocks.
