how about a SS and light NL android app?

If you got suggestions for new features or feature changes in NewsLeecher, go ahead and let santa know.

how about a SS and light NL android app?

Post by tommo123 »

was thinking just now how much i'd like the option (when on wifi) to be able to grab something via NGs. Would be nice even if it was something simple like a supersearch with a client that can only download NZBs.

supersearch for Android

Post by clarenceb5 »

Supersearch for Android would be awesome, especially if I could leave newsleecher running on a computer at home, then when on the go using newsleecher supersearch for android could find what I want and then it could somehow tell the client running at home to download it. I'm not a programmer just a guy supporting a good idea!!!!

If u want to use supersearch just so your desktop can start the download.. then get WYSE Pocketcloud. It'a a remote client for Android to control your desktop.

Anyways, I would really NEED for NL to produce a droid supersearch app..

Just look at all the other droid apps out there for usenet...

Most are nzb ran and the rest require to subscribe to specific groups..
How is one to find something if you are limited to only groups that are manually added?

All that needs to be done is this-
This is REALLY easy...

Just create a general droid app with supersearch...

User can then either download direct from results..
or
export selected results to NZB for execution later.

i use teamviewer at the mo to access my home pc but doing it in an app specifically made for newsgroups would be/should be better and easier i think,

it could also have the option to download straight to your phone as opposed to sending the download home

You can try a third party app for android, NZB Leech is a very simple native usenet download client for android. Import nzb files into NZB Leech and download on the go!

I agree that this would be useful. So what we are really wishing for is actually remote control interface for Newsleecher similar to those in Winamp etc. Implementation of the remote controller would then be left in the hands of third party developers and it wouldn't be long before we would have several implementations for Android and iOS platforms. This way users could choose a remote controller they like or write their own.

An Android App for SS would be great.
I don't want a remote control app for my PC.
Just a SS function to get nzb's.
I usually download nzb's and sent it to my server to download it via nzbget.
If i could download nzb's on my tablet to send it to my server that would be the best gift form uncle santa.
The SS engine is one of the best.
