Am i the only one getting again the bug of the refresh headers?
Also, have anyone problems with velocity when newsleecher is active and open firefox, mail or any program using internet?

It looks like this happens only if your queue-files has been created by a previous NL-Version (like the unofficial preview for me), because it works if i recreate the queue in b4 with identical content.

I used a nzb file to recreate mine and it still had the same problem. Mind you the nzb was created by a previous version of newsleecher of the whole queue.

Is the "Cannot add to transfer queue. One or more of the selected articles are already in the transfer queue" a feature that is here to stay, or just being tested out?

Makes it really annoying when trying to re-add files if some are already queued since it just gives the error.

can not hide tabs (very minor issue yeah;-)

Post by grimlock72 » Mon Jun 29, 2009 10:56 pm

You can select which tabs to display (i.e. 'articles', 'queue', 'postings'..) using the dropdown arrow/menu-thingie most-right of the tabs. However it's impossible for me to uncheck a tab I want to get rid of.

Clicking on it just doesn't do anything??

i seem to have a problem.

With my original 4b4 i can't refresh headers.
With a clean installation (empty directory and empty data folder) i can refresh headers.

Two questions.
(a) Does anyone knows why?
(b) How can i get ALL the headers? When i sais to the clean program get new headers it only got the headers the previous version didn't got. And if i say get the last 1.000.000 headers it get the new headers only. I've activated the group update setting with NO LIMIT but nothing.

enabling R & E locks up every few seconds

Post by FidoDildo » Tue Jun 30, 2009 3:57 pm

As mentioned by others before, my NL 4.0b4 also locks up every few seconds if Repair & Extract is enabled.
The larger the queue gets, the more frequent the lockup happens.

My queue is now about 10Gb with about 50 items (3.5K Articles) and it locks up every < 1 second, wich results in very slow leeching, and very anyoing handling.

RNE Error with non-rar files

Post by duncs » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:10 pm

It seems that most albums that I download with 4b4 are not being fully copied to the extract folder:-

It seems that everyone stops at a random track, I've checked the Par files and they are ok with Quickpar.

Here is the snapshot from the logfile:

Visual Errors

Post by Ironside » Wed Jul 01, 2009 10:55 am

Just to let you know I see visual errors with some of the menu's. You will find a number of them if you go through it.

Although it's no biggy I just thought I would mention it.

Backup and recovery seems messed up after r/e lockup

Post by pzam » Wed Jul 01, 2009 12:36 pm

4b4

I keep having items get stuck in repair and extract.

The problem shows up after I am forced to terminate newsleecher as the only way to get it to stop it - as the stop button in repair and extract is not working.

It then seem to reload a old copy of what was downloading as all the items on the list have usualy finished. Also the repair and extract list can be totaly cleared or have some part of what was there.

this is really messed up from 4b3

I have been clearing everything from the download and repair and extract list every time and restarting the program a couple times before starting to download to try to flush it.

Leech queue problems

Post by ___news___ » Wed Jul 01, 2009 7:59 pm

If the same article is posted to multiple newsgroups AND those newsgroups are in the same virtual group then leeching that article results in it being leeched (at least) twice.

The option to skip already leech articles appears to be missing in this version.

Everything Koogle said x1000 plus two more things:

1. Strip all hint windows. The lack of this option is 100% lame.
2. Still no option to ungroup headers.

I just don't understand how you can change a program so much in so little time and leave all your old users out in the cold. Even in Vista you can turn on the old-as-dirt Win95 start menu. That feature is about 15 years old now! Why can't you keep something for longer than two builds?

Same problems...

Post by alexps » Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:27 am

Hi.
As previously mentioned, have to Ungroup everything in a queue manually to queue/pause it. That's a lot of '+' signs to click on. Used to take me 3 keystrokes. Today took 10 minutes.
The option to turn _off_ grouping would be a major advantage to those of us who want the speed of v4 but hate grouping (a growing band from what I can read here). Grouping has caused more bugs & crashes for my NL than anything else you have ever introduced. Please can I stop it!

On a (probably) related issue, if I read an .nfo file within an expanded grouping (by clicking on the '+') using Ctrl+R, why does NL then try to download all the associated files? I just want to read the Info to decide if I want to download it, not have NL decide for me. This is a new bug in beta 4 as far as I can tell.

Keep up the good work. Eventually we'll all stop moaning.
Please can I turn off grouping now!

The ungroup headers is a pain in the butt for me also, can you set it how it was before ?
