Someone has the same problem?

b10 is just not working properly.
  • I installed the b11 too and that barely makes it work but it constantly hangs and my HDD is getting thrashed. That is despite NL running off an SSD and the destination HDD being a separate internal drive.

Can anyone suggest how a RAMdisk can help?

Is it possible to remove the .par .nzb information from the listview?

Also, i tried to install 3.9 but it fails to even start.

Does anyone have a download link for b9 please?

B9 was okay, but has also erros, but b10 is really crap.
No constant download speed due to temp files were generated in target folder (want temp folder back).
More hanging connections in one day than in the last three months...

Cleanup of headers don't work since 6 versions, got 1.000.000 headers be cleaned up, progamm chrashes at about 600.000.

Mh, my license will expire next week.... I think i change the product to a stable... goodbye newsleecher.

also slow downloads

Post by Lundis2 »

With the new beta 10 and beta 11 forum 1 I get SUPER slow speeds
on sertain posts. Usally smaller ones. with 15 slot I can get 50KB/S.
Bigger posts 300MB work like they did before. I never had any speed problems due to newsleecher before.
I usally download at around 5MB/S before beta 10.

Well a beta is supposed to be made to test features\stability, finds bugs etc..
Is the non beta version stable for you ?

For the first time ever .. I have had to go back to Beta9 from two later betas.

I am not happy with new download temp file situation.

I found that many .wmv files were getting corrupted, and ending up tiny!
avi files didn't seem to be affected.

Changed back to beta9 and re-downloaded same files ... Perfect!

I think we should return to the previous system and keep a Temp folder for program/combining use.

A temp folder would be nice. I have a temp folder on a ramdisk. Works most of the time good.
Even better ( i think) would be to keep the parts in ram and when the file is complete write to the harddisk.
Sometimes a upload contains one big file of 1,2GB ( error of the poster).
To overcome this problem limit the max ram use to a configurable size and when the file is bigger that this size write to temp folder. A pc with low ram can be setup to use a lower max ram size.

I just installed this patch, yet I still get an odd behaviour: headers update, then one group will apparently update from header 0. This begins, showing millions of headers are being downloaded, then a few seconds later, the process ends. It is not always the same group.

Does this test release solve the issue?

I could only reproduce the problem if I consistently deleted all group headers before every group update, using the 'Delete from Cache' feature.
bug fixed. no idea how. hate it when that happens. trying to break it again now. will. not. be. defeated.

For users who have problems with NewsLeecher temporarily pausing the transfer queue while downloading, pls try this test release:

http://www.newsleecher.com/nluft3.exe

When downloading, using this test release, go to the log tab, and copy the "SAVE DEBUG - Bytes Written..." log lines to the clipboard and paste them to a forum PM message to me. The log lines might help me narrowing down on the problem.

the prob i had with the header download seems to have been fixed by marking as old instead of deleting. downside is, the size of NLs install folder seems to be increasing slowly

side note, any chance of moving 'select all' to the main menu on a right click? :o
