Still waiting 5 weeks since
"this is from Spiril:
"Just a quick update to let you know that the first beta of NewsLeecher V8 will be out within the next week or two.""

Any update?

I suppose when you wrote "week" in the last update message, you actually meant "month".

Yes it was planned - but a report from our test reported some errors that have to be fixed.

Any chance of releasing a V8.0 Beta 1 UFR4, that may already have some fixes for UFR3, before you release the official Beta 1 release?

It's been almost a quarter of a year now, do you have any news or updates about version 8 for us?

Hi Scuba:

Any chance of releasing a V8.0 Beta 1 UFR4, that may already have some fixes for UFR3, before you release the official Beta 1 release?

I have been submitting errors to developers when they popup, to provide feedback.

One of the biggest errors which you probably already know about is after you have downloaded anything, and then close V8.0 Beta 1 UFR3, the error message shows "Exception EOSError in module NewsLeecher.exe at 000331E1. System Error. Code: 1400. Invalid window handle." This can be replicated all the time.

It's been over a year now since we had a public release...

I switched to newsleecher as my program and usenet provider because of the many updates, besides it being a great program.
With the secure SSL downloads being way slower in V7, and the need for it being higher then ever, we really need a V8.
If you had told me last year ago, that we would have to wait at least another 8 months before we would get a new version, I would have moved on.

And since you can't give a proper release date, I have started looking around for alternatives.
Customer service is important... And when you switched from "updates often" to "once in a blue moon", you should have properly informed customers.

This whole "in the next few weeks" is an awful blemish/tarnish on a once great (if not the best) usenet tool.

I hope you can turn it around, but for now, I have to start looking elsewhere

I've been hanging on, for some time now, waiting for a beta release hoping that it would cure the problem of when downloading headers... they just come to a grinding halt and then time out!

4 May 2017 was the last information about future releases and it was indicated then that it would be a few weeks before they were released. It's now the end of August and still no sign :?

I've been using Newsleecher for many years but I'm thinking it's time to look elsewhere.... I'm not prepared to to hang about any longer in the hope that a fix for this problem will appear... again, I was pinning my hopes on the beta of version 8 would be the answer, but it looks like that aint coming along any time soon :(

Once I've found a suitable alternative, I'll be cancelling my subs' and moving elsewhere.

Thanks to the team at Newsleecher.... but it's now time to move on :(

I've just cancelled my subs. I didn't get a confirmation (email etc.). How do I confirm that my subscription has been cancelled?

My last payment was 27 August 2017 so my subs have a few weeks to run yet but I want to confirm that my subscription has been cancelled and no further payments will be taken from my account.

I'd appreciate a member of the team getting back A.S.A.P ..... Thank you

Any update on when version 8 beta will be released? We are all anxiously waiting. I just finally got a 4k monitor and can't wait to check out the new newsleecher beta on it :)

hmm... if newsleecher somehow gets us past all this obfuscated stuff in the next release, it'll be worth the wait. Of course, that's a pipe dream of mine, but a man can wish right?!?!
