Astounding, actually.

Scuba et al - how can we have any faith and confidence in V8 when it has taken you almost a year to solve problems that you originally thought were simple?

Let me say again: I have written several times in the forum that we are aware of this time period of a new version! Also that we have not been good with information. I cannot do this every week...
but remember that:
- version 7 is free to use with commercial banner (commercial for our own usenet - and not external stuff)
- Supersearch/superleech is working
- Out usenet service is one of the best (if not the best!) on the marked.
- Support team is running.

So it's not like we have left the building and not doing anything. New version has taken to much time...BUT....our service level has been the same. All that is missing is that new version and it is coming. I cannot set a date because we earlier have seen bugs that suddenly was found and then people complain. Also there have been many changes to the UI which also have been important for us.

So you have no Timeline at all since May 2017....shame. I love the program and use it daily. My hopes were up for a new version by the end of 2017 as you announced. Happy to wait...but not forever :(

So why not release the current version you have for Version 8 and call it Beta 1, which will open it up to more people to test (it is a BETA version still, so the risk averse people will stay on Version 7 Final Release), and then continue to work on the issues the programmers are having, and once resolved, a Beta 2 could be released, which satisfies the people who like to test new versions frequently. (Myself being one of the frequent testers).

What I am concerned about even more than a new version is that already for a year or so I hardly get any hits on the titles that I have in the Super Leech section. And IF something is downloaded then most of the time 1 or 2 days after the release. Before that started to happen NL always had the things I follow downloaded the same day. Out of the 30 active titles in this section, I sometimes get downloads of no more than maybe 3 of them per week. So I'm now thinking of ending my subscription if things do not change within the next 2 months, either with v7 or with a (beta of) v8.

How can I join the Alpha group? I am a very seasoned software tester with lots of Alpha/Beta testing experience.

Paying everymonth, but still running V7beta15!!
2 years past for a final release!
How come it takes that long to get a new release out, it really feels like Newsleecher has left the building and gaining money everymonth just to keep the services up-and-running and that about it.

Earth is 4,543 × 10^9 * 365 days old, so it's coming within a few days.

Usenet is a mess these days and I doubt having a new version is going to solve that for anybody
Most posts are now either obfuscated password protected or posted across multiple groups
All I'm interested in is bug fixes which get bugger all attention as far as I can tell :\
If you just migrated V7 Final to x64 it'd be a start and could sort out a lot of users memory issues

Just my tuppence worth

The last post in the news tab in Newsleecher is from Jan 11th of this year. I am still paying for software updates, but haven't seen any? V7 is nice, but it would be nice to see some activity...
